Styles, capacity limits, price points, what’s all included and so much more can vary from one venue to another. So this is why we created the Venue Comparison Guide. Selecting a Venue - Tips

What’s Most Important to you?

  • Is guest count, budget, or available dates at your favorite venue the most important? It may be difficult to find all three to fit perfectly within your guidelines. So if you determine what’s most important first, it will help you narrow your venue choices.

Remember, Not all Venues are the same

  • We get it, comparing venues is challenging! Chances are you’re going to do a lot of reaching out, waiting for pricing and dates, and then the comparison of what’s included really begins. Keep in mind, it’s not just the venue fee that matter…It’s venue fee + catering cost + bar costs (is there a minimum you must meet?) + taxes, auto gratuities & other fees combined that will give you the best apples to apples comparison. If you’re only looking at the cost of the venue, you may not have a realistic comparison.

Seek out & read Reviews

  • Take the time to find & read reviews from real couples. Look online at Google or Facebook to get, not only the couples opinions, but family and guest’s thoughts too. Yes, it is all about the couple, but sometimes family & friends can be more forthright with their opinions and allows you to get a good feel for how the venue, staff and vendors work together. Your wedding day is one of the only experiences in your life where you don’t get a do-over, so learning from the experience of others is big. Definitely seek those reviews out to get a better feel of who you will be working with.

Transparency Matters

  • If you have to work hard to get the basic details like pricing, dates, and FAQs from potential venues, sometimes that is an indication that they may be hard to work with during the planning process. We believe in being up front right away…take a look at our website if you don’t believe me. We want to make the planning process easier - so when you don’t have all the information right from the start, it can make it more difficult to compare, especially if you’re finding it difficult to get that information from a venue BEFORE you make a commitment and sign a contract.

  • This one can sometimes be easy to overlook. You’ll be working with your venue for months or years! It’s important that you love the space, and just as importantly love the people who will be supporting you.
